Here at Eastern Divide, we are committed to offering an array of different beer styles and flavors for all folks, seasons and occasions! We are proud to be brewing with all Virginia Grains thanks to our friends at Murphy and Rude Malting Co.! Supporting local Virginia agriculture is extremely rewarding and a crucial step to developing Virginia craft beers that taste like our own. The freshness of craft beer is especially important to us. It is a joy to maintain styles, which are darker, heavier + more alcoholic for barrel finishing or aging and long-term storage, but that is only half the fun. We also produce numerous styles that want to be served and tasted as fresh as possible. This requires special attention to brewing, dry-hopping, cellar schedules, ingredient selection and quality assurance. We are very excited about our barrel program, so far we have fermented, finished and aged with 24 oak barrels and that number increases by the week! There is a great opportunity for flavor variety and development when working with oak barrels previously used for products such as bourbon, wine, rum or maple syrup! We’re thrilled to be brewing on a 10 barrel brew house which we had custom designed to fit our space and our brewing style. Our cellar space consists of 20 barrel fermenters and 10 barrel brite tanks. We have included a hop-back into our system and utilize it to brew with exclusively all whole cone hops throughout the process. While we may develop more into packaging and distribution in the future, our current focus is on fostering a relationship with our local community and providing the tastiest of beverages for our taproom and event space.
