About

We are a young brewery, but our passion runs deep. Our founder and president, Larry Bell (yes, of Bell’s Brewery) has family roots that go back a 100 years. That family connection has brought him back to the U.P. time and time again and opening a brewery here fulfills a lifelong dream that began underneath the falls at Tahquamenon. From St. Ignace to Houghton to Ironwood and all the way down to Menominee, our beer is brewed where it’s meant to be enjoyed – Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. With a 20-barrel brewhouse in Esky (Escanaba to those unfamiliar), built primarily from local contractors with equipment made in the USA, we brew and package beer that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of the north and our community. You can find Upper Peninsula Ale (UPA), Escanaba Black Beer and Upper Hand Lager on draught and in bottles throughout the U.P. But you won’t find our beer below the (Mackinac) Bridge. Just one more reason to come up and visit this gorgeous and wondrous place we are proud to call home.
